Edgar P E White

Edgar Pardee Earle White died at the age of 84 on January 7, 2014, surrounded by his wife and three daughters. He had been a lifelong resident of Manhattan and Mantoloking, NJ.
Mr. White was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Sumner Wheeler White (Virginia Earle). A graduate of Allen Stevenson, Groton and Harvard (class of 1952), Mr. White served in counterintelligence during the Korean War and worked as a stockbroker and financial printer on Wall Street. He was predeceased by his identical twin brother, Sumner W. White III, with whom he won a gold medal aboard the 5.5-meter yacht Complex II at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, along with the late Dr. Britton Chance.
Edgar was an active member of the Union Club and the Mantoloking Yacht Club, a past Master of the Holland Lodge in New York, and a longtime trustee of St. Simon’s-by-the-Sea in Mantoloking.
He is survived by Mrs. White (Dorothy Jeanne Fuhrer); his daughters, Cynthia W. Rossini, Miss Daphne L. White of Riverside, CT, and Mrs. Cornelius E. Sigety (Virginia White) of Pipersville, PA; and his grandchildren, C. Edgar, Bradford E. and Cornelia R. Sigety.
