Erica Anne Knutson, daughter of Mrs. Dennis Cummings (Knutson—Claire P. Ferrari) of Huntington, NY, and the late Thomas A. Knutson III, also of Huntington, married Scudder Thompson Fowler, son of Mrs. Cruger D. G. Fowler Jr. (Nancy A. Thompson) of New York, and the late Mr. Fowler. The ceremony and reception took place on July 11, 2015, at the Coral Beach and Tennis Club in Paget, Bermuda.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ferrari (Claire P. Russell) of Rockville Centre, NY. She is also the granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas A. Knutson Jr. (Ruth E. Morgan) of Cold Spring Harbor, NY, and the late Mr. Knutson. She is the stepdaughter of Mr. Cummings.
The groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Thompson (Christine Maxwell) of Clarksburg, WV. He is also the grandson of the late Mrs. Henry Vaughan (Fowler—Hebard—Elizabeth Fales) of Chestnut Hill, PA, and the late Cruger D. G. Fowler of New York. He is the stepgrandson of the late Mr. Vaughan.
The bride wore a gown of embossed silk jacquard and a custom veil, along with the engagement ring worn by the groom’s maternal great-grandmother nearly one hundred years ago. A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s mother and his brother, Cruger D. G. Fowler III, was held on the eve of the wedding at Bermuda’s oldest eating house, Tom Moore’s Tavern.
The wedding ceremony on the Longtail Terrace was followed by a cocktail hour and a performance by colorfully costumed Gombey dancers, illustrating the history and sacrifice of the Bermudian people through drumming and dance. A seated dinner took place afterwards, with guests dancing until midnight.
Mrs. Fowler is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College. Mr. Fowler attended Brooks School and is a graduate of Columbia University.
The couple currently make their home in New York.
